What this service is
Mashofe.com is an introduction service operated by Cabanga Africa (Pty) Ltd. It publishes freight loads and available haulage capacity across the SADC region, both domestic and cross-border, and introduces the parties to each other. It is not a carrier, freight forwarder, clearing agent, customs broker, insurer, financier or payment provider, and it does not hold itself out as any of those.
The contract is not with Mashofe.com
Any agreement to move goods is made directly between the shipper and the transporter. Mashofe.com is not a party to it. Mashofe.com does not set, negotiate or guarantee the rate, does not receive the freight payment and does not stand behind either party's performance.
Trip commission
Mashofe.com charges a commission on each trip that results from a match made through the board. The commission is tiered by the value of the trip and is payable by the party who took the match - the transporter who takes a posted load, or the shipper who takes a posted truck. The party who posted first is not charged, and posting, searching and browsing are never charged.
The applicable band is stated to the paying party before the introduction is made. No commission is payable where no trip results. Where a trip proceeds, the parties will confirm the agreed value of that trip to Mashofe.com so that the correct band can be applied, and Mashofe.com may request reasonable evidence of that value. Commission is invoiced separately by Mashofe.com and is not deducted from, or a charge upon, the freight payment between the parties.
No warranty of either party
Verification is a check on documents supplied at a point in time. It is not a warranty of performance, solvency, roadworthiness or honesty, and it is not a credit reference. Each party must satisfy itself as to the other, and must hold its own insurance. Mashofe.com accepts no liability for loss, damage, delay, non-payment, detention, demurrage or any consequential loss arising from a job introduced through the platform.
Going around the board
Where parties are introduced through Mashofe.com, the commission is payable on the trip that follows, whether or not the parties later choose to deal outside the platform. Repeated business between two parties first introduced by Mashofe.com is not charged - the commission attaches to the introduced trip, not to the relationship.
What you must not post
Do not post cargo you are not lawfully entitled to move, undeclared hazardous cargo, cargo subject to sanctions or export prohibition, live animals without the required veterinary permits, or any load intended to conceal the movement of prohibited goods. Do not post capacity for a vehicle you do not lawfully operate. Postings that appear to breach this are removed without notice.
Accuracy
Everything on the board is supplied by the party who posted it. Route notes, transit times, permit and document lists are guidance drawn from operator experience and are not a customs or legal opinion. Requirements change. Confirm current rules with the relevant authority before you load.
Clearing agents on the board
A clearing agent listing on Mashofe.com is an advertisement of a licensed desk at a named border post. Mashofe.com will check the licence of any agent carrying the verified plate, but it does not employ, supervise, indemnify or stand behind any agent, and it is not a party to the clearing mandate you give one. The declaration, the duty and the bond remain between you, the agent and the revenue authority.
An agent is offered against a load only where that load crosses a border and only where the agent has told us they work the post named on it. That offer is a suggestion of who is available, not a recommendation, and not a warranty that the desk is open, licensed on the day, or able to take the work.
Where a clearing agent takes work that came off this board, the trip commission is charged on the same basis as it is charged to any other party who takes a match.
