An empty truck earns nothing
There is no shortage of cargo in this region and no shortage of trucks. What is missing is the sight of one from the other. Mashofe.com puts loads, trucks and clearing desks on one board across SADC and makes the introduction inside a business day.
Domestic or cross-border - choose before you search
Both live on this board and they behave nothing alike. One has a border on it and one does not, and everything from permits to paperwork to who else you need follows from that.
A commission on the trip, and nothing before it
The board is free and stays free. Mashofe.com earns a commission when a match on this board turns into an actual trip. It is tiered by the value of that trip, so a city hop is not charged like a corridor run, and it is paid by whoever took the match - not by the party who posted first. No trip, no charge.
Three steps, in order
Nothing can be taken off this board before it is put on it, so the order matters. It is the same three whichever side you are standing on.
The load goes up
A shipper posts the leg in about a minute. Their name and number stay off the board.
A transporter takes it
Any operator sees the whole board and asks for the introduction. Looking is free.
The introduction is made
Both sides are checked and put together inside one business day. You agree the rate.
What the board is telling us
Every load that opens, matches or closes is a reading on which lanes are tightening, which direction is running empty and what the borders are doing. That reading is written up monthly and carried through a publication network reaching twenty-eight countries.
Questions people ask
Which countries does Mashofe.com cover?
The SADC region. Angola, Botswana, DR Congo, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe - every road-reachable member state. Mashofe.com does not operate outside SADC.
Is this only for cross-border work?
No. Roughly half the board is domestic. A run from Gaborone to Maun, Harare to Bulawayo or Johannesburg to Durban belongs here exactly as much as a Beitbridge crossing, and there is a filter to show only domestic legs.
What does it cost to use the board?
Looking, searching, posting a load and posting a truck are all free. Mashofe.com earns a trip commission when a match results in a trip, tiered by the value of that trip, and it is paid by whoever took the match - the transporter who takes a posted load, or the shipper who takes a posted truck. The party who posted first is not charged.
What does the return load flag mean?
It means the shipper has noted that a load is available for the way back on the same leg. It is not a contract and it is not priced by Mashofe.com - it is a signal that the trip may pay both ways rather than one.
What each side does, and who is charged
| Side | What you post | What you browse | Who pays commission |
|---|---|---|---|
| Transporter | Available capacity and where it is standing | Loads, filtered for the way back | You, if you take a posted load |
| Shipper | A load, without your name or number | Trucks, by what they pull and when free | You, if you take a posted truck |
| Clearing agent | The crossings you work and services held | Cross-border loads through your post | Neither - agents are not charged a trip commission |
Open the corridor you run
Every route on this board carries its own permits, its own posts and its own chokepoints. Open the one you work and read what it actually asks of you before you post on it.
Transit times and dwell are what operators on these routes report, not a guarantee. Permits and documents are the shipper's and the transporter's responsibility - Mashofe.com does not lodge, clear or carry anything.
